10 Predictions For WWE Payback After Extreme Rules
5. Sandow Will Be Left Off The Card, Again
It turns out that turning a rubbish joke gimmick into one of the hottest feuds of the Wrestlemania season isn't enough for the WWE. In three short matches, the bookers managed to crush any momentum that this feud once had. Miz beat Sandow in a tiny match with no build up, then Sandow beat Miz in a tiny match with no build up, then Miz beat Sandow in a Winner Gets To Keep Being The Miz match (why would anyone want to win that match? Even The Miz doesn't want to be The Miz anymore) and now their story is done. Miz is off shooting another movie and Sandow was nowhere to be seen during Extreme Rules. It's baffling how badly the WWE have handled this. The big PPV match was in their hands, the story had written itself, all they had to do was greenlight it. Their refusal to do so, and having Sandow end the feud on his back, demonstrate a clear and unfathomable disregard for his considerable talents. He cut a great, impassioned promo on Monday Night RAW, but ended it mugging around with fellow-no-hoper Curtis Axel. This is a step sideways for Sandow and rather than forging ahead in a new feud, expect him to enjoy Payback from the comfort of his own sofa, wondering what the hell went wrong.
