Commentary is so important to WWE. It fleshes out the narrative in matches and segments, giving colour to the storylines and engaging the fans. The importance of commentary is the reason why Vince McMahon personally produces the likes of John Bradshaw Layfield and Michael Cole. The trouble is, McMahon is guilty of harassing the commentary team. He has a reputation for barking out orders and shouting at the commentators. It was one of the reasons that Mick Foley's commentary role on Smackdown was so brief, as he simply couldn't stand McMahon's abrasive style of yelling into the headset. With McMahon gone and Triple H producing the commentators, there should be a noticeable improvement from Cole and Layfield, which will then lead to overall smoother narratives on screen.
