I’d like to see TNA place more emphasis on the X division. After the lively match between DJZ and Eddie Edwards and the team of Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett on the May 17 Impact, commentator Josh Mathews said: “The X division has always been a cornerstone of Impact Wrestling.” That was true a decade ago. It isn’t today.

“Yeah. That was the feedback when I first came in. When I had the Stand Up campaign and I asked fans on social media what they wanted, the biggest thing was the X division. And, slowly but surely, we’ve been trying to get it back. We can’t magically pluck an AJ [Styles] or a Samoa Joe and all the guys who were so strong then out of the air, but there are guys out there that are so talented.

“Shane Helms, because he trained Trevor Lee, he’s been helping bring newer guys into the X division . . . Andrew Everett. These are guys that are coming into the company. So, it is under way: the X division is on the way back. It is going to keep growing.”
