The two only hooked up once on WWE TV and it was a quick squash for Brock on an episode of Smackdown in 2002. Besides that, the only matches between the two are ones from OVW and this dark match from the 27th November, 2001 Smackdown taping. The match is a good, back and forth encounter that makes both men look good. Orton hits his always stunning standing dropkick right into Lesnar's fash and tries to ground the big man. Brock runs through his power moves. They make a hash of a backslide and a sunset flip spot but they were probably nervous and both men were far from the finished article. It's amazing to think that Randy Orton, Batista, John Cena and Brock Lesnar were all part of the same class in OVW. Fans probably didn't realise how lucky they were to be seeing four guys who would become some of the biggest names in the business cut their teeth before them. If Lesnar is leaving WWE after WrestleMania as rumours would suggest, WWE could do a lot worse than staging an Orton/Lesnar match on March 29th.
