10 Real-Life Dramas That Made It To Wrestling TV

1. Pepper

Infamous as a so-bad-it's-good moment of 'Attitude Era' insanity, The Big Boss Man invited rival Al Snow over for dinner in his hotel room as a peace offering following some hard-hitting wars between the duo.

Boss Man had kidnapped Snow's chihuahua 'Pepper', but the steak dinner was ostensibly to resolve their issues which Snow hoped would see the safe return of his pet.

It being 1999 WWE, this was nowhere near the outcome.

Boss Man gleefully revealed the 'steak' Snow was chowing down on was his murdered and cooked dog, naturally to Al's great dismay.

It was a broadly humorous vignette as part of a farcical angle, but wrestling lore says the idea was supplanted in the industry thanks a long-held story of the situation occurring for real.

Mythical tales of Harry 'Mr Fuji' Fujiwara's crazy life before entering the industry were shared amongst performers, with a favourite being that he did exactly this to a neighbour's dog after repeated bouts of sleep being ruined by loud barking.

The thought of comedy heel Mr Fuji deviously chuckling as he feeds the couple next door their own pet dilutes the sheer insanity of the situation, highlighting the dark humour of WWE's twisted re-invention of the anecdote.
