10 Reasons CM Punk Was Right To Leave WWE
The former WWE star has finally explained what really happened.
CM Punk walked out on World Wrestling Entertainment on January 27, 2014. It was on the Monday after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. We haven't heard him talk about his WWE exit in detail for the past ten months. That is, until now. The former five time WWE World Heavyweight Champion appeared on the podcast of his very good friend Colt Cabana. It was released early on Thursday morning as if it was some Thanksgiving gift to wrestling fans that have been waiting for the man that is one of the most popular wrestlers ever, especially among internet fans. You can listen to it by searching for "Art of Wrestling" on iTunes or going to ColtCabana.com. Punk opened up the podcast by saying he wasn't there to complain about money although there were instances where he definitely did go on rants about money. He feels like he could have made more and he wasn't shy about sharing that opinion. Most of his other negative comments were related to working hurt far too often as well as creative issues. It's hard to know if WWE is going to respond to Punk's comments in any way. On Monday night, Vince McMahon will have a podcast with Steve Austin that will air on WWE Network. There's a chance that Austin could mention Punk on it, but it seems unlikely. They're likely just going to ignore it and pretend like it didn't even happen. That's something WWE tends to do when there's bad press about them. There were some things that Punk said that made him seem like a disgruntled former wrestler, but I found it to be a case of a guy that was justified in a lot of things that he said. It's easier for fans to side with the wrestler because he's just a regular guy that was living his dream and now he might not wrestle again. It's a shame that things got this bad in the first place. With that said, it's not fair to necessarily paint WWE as the bad guy in this scenario because without hearing from Vince or Triple H we don't know the whole story. Here's a look at things from CM Punk's perspective by discussing the ten reasons why he was right to leave World Wrestling Entertainment when he did.
