10 Reasons Conor McGregor Would Become WWE's Franchise Player

9. He's Already A Tremendous Heel

Jim Ross recently described Conor McGregor as “the perfect heel.” His persona is brash, arrogant, and obnoxious, and while he doesn’t always play the bad guy, McGregor’s act is rooted in his own ego. Conor’s ability to talk himself up is second to none, and he’s a man of his word: when he says he’s going to do something, it usually happens.

Conor McGregor is MMA’s Ric Flair: half the audience loves him, and the other half loves to hate him. Frankly, he plays a better pro-wrestling gimmick than any current WWE heel, and while his MMA crowd reactions are always positive, he has all the hallmarks of a classic wrestling heel.

WWE wouldn’t need to worry about nailing Conor’s gimmick, because he’s already got it down. Watching him in action at a press conference is like travelling back in time to wrestling’s golden era. He’s got his act down to a tee, and if you’re still hesitant, check-out last week’s UFC 205 pre-fight presser and come back to us.

Charlotte and The Miz are the most effective heels in WWE today, but McGregor outclasses both of them. He already carries himself like a member of the Four Horsemen, and if he were unleashed in WWE, McGregor would take to the company’s entertainment side like a duck to water.
