It's said that if you love your job you'll never work a day in your life, and while the fundamentals of that might be true, even a dream job still needs to keep the lights on.

Nobody would choose to fall on their backs hundreds of time for a living without an impossibly large amount of passion for the project, but at some point the pain and suffering has to feed people. And due to that risk/reward ratio, feed them well. WWE has never been in a better place to do just that.

It's stupid to suggest that every billion dollars the company greedily hoovers up all trickles down to the talent, but the market leader compensates more competitively than ever before, and with wrestlers finally having a little more strength at the negotiation table following the 2019 death of the North American monopoly, things will hopefully keep trending in that direction.
