10. The Tokyo Dome
There is perhaps no better venue in the world to see a wrestling event than the Tokyo Dome (Egg Dome). The only building that rivals its mystique would be New York's Madison Square Garden, but the argument could be made that the Tokyo Dome is associated more with pro wrestling than the Garden. While there have been many big events at the Tokyo Dome, including Buster Douglas' upset of Mike Tyson in 1990, the venue's link to pro wrestling is first and foremost in many people's minds. Big wrestling shows have been happening now at the Tokyo Dome for many years. January 4th is essentially "wrestling day" in Japan, with the yearly January 4th Tokyo Dome show tradition going back to 1992 (New Japan held the first pro wrestling event in the Dome in April 1989). Though New Japan sometimes has multiple events at the Dome in a given year, it's always been the January 4th show that is the biggest of the year. The name "Wrestle Kingdom" was officially given to the yearly January show in 2007, even though the tradition had been going for 15 years at that point. Watching an event in the dome, rather live in person or on television, is always a special experience. The 55,000 seat venue will be dressed up to the max for the big show. Watching a New Japan show can always be an experience of extremes. One night, they'll be in the Dome with laser lights and an entranceway that surpasses as WWE show. Then, like last year, they'll be in a small gymnasium the next day coming through a plain curtain. Expect the stage set-up at Wrestle Kingdom 10 to surpass your typical WWE PPV set.
