10 Reasons This Year's WWE Tough Enough Sucks

7. The Contestants Don€™t Sell

The WWE viewing audience knows wrestling is fake, but at least we are willing to suspend our disbelief when we€™re watching the action, and that helps our entertainment. So it really exposes the business even further when the contestants don€™t sell that the moves hurt. Each week, a superstar comes in live and does moves to the contestants. Two weeks ago, the Big Show chopped the male contestants in the chest. Last week, Tamina gave a scoop slam and a big splash to the female contestants. The hosts and the wrestlers played it up like the contestants were going to get hurt, but only with a few exceptions (Patrick, Chelsea), the contestants completely no-sold the moves, which looked really awkward. Selling is key to being a good professional wrestler. Even though the crowd knows its fake, a wrestler€™s job is to make it look as real as possible. The contestants€™ no-selling has made the show, and WWE as a whole, look really bad.
