10 Reasons To Stop Watching WWE

6. Raw Is Still Three Hours Long

Earlier in the decade, WWE would run quarterly three-hour-long Raw events at the behest of the USA Network. As Raw was the network's highest-rated show, USA could charge more money to advertisers for spots during the program, making it more lucrative for them. WWE, meanwhile, would get paid more by USA for the longer shows, so - despite the fact that Vince McMahon and company felt that three hours was too long for a wrestling show - it was worth it for all parties. The problem was that the three-hour Raws typically felt drawn out and poorly-paced, so when the company announced that - beginning with the show's 1000th episode in July of 2012 - all Raws would be three hours long, fans were nervous. They had good reason to be, as those same problems persisted when the show made the permanent change. WWE soon started using more promos - often from Triple H and the McMahon family - to fill time. Many fans predicted Raw would go back to its two-hour form within a year, but three and a half years later, the show is still 180+ minutes every week. The company has not found a way to make the broadcast entertaining from start to finish, and even the rare good episodes of Raw are hampered by length issues and a burned-out crowd. For fans who prefer quantity to quality, WWE is just great. For the rest of us, there are other alternatives.
