10 Reasons Triple H Just Won WWE Royal Rumble 2016
10. The Legacy Of Drawing The Biggest WWE Attendance Ever
According to WWE, their biggest attendance ever is 93,173, way back in 1987 at WrestleMania 3 in the Pontiac Silverdome. In truth, that number is rubbish, and every WWE attendance is worked to some degree. No one really knows what the legit record is, but it is probably in the 80K range, with shows like SummerSlam 1992 or WrestleMania 29 the possible top. Whatever the case, on April 3 in Cowboys Stadium, WWE will likely set a new record attendance for their brand. There's talk of 100,000 fans, although the likelier number will probably be in upper 80K / lower 90K region. Either way, a new record is indeed likely. WWE will say it is 100,000 no matter what. And that's where Hunter's politics come in. His reason for winning the Royal Rumble and going on to main event Mania isn't that it is best for the company, he's more thinking of the legacy in calling himself the biggest crowd draw of all time. He'll go down in wrestling history, with an attendance that may never be broken. If he was doing what was best for the company, surely he'd advise Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns as the Mania main event? Brock is undoubtedly the best draw WWE has, with a broader mainstream appeal than The Game. But he wants the spot, he wants the honour of the record crowd, and the Rumble win has set him up for that.
