For the last decade, The Undertaker had something even more important than a title - he had the streak. This legendary story arc really kicked off in 2004, when Undertaker picked up his twelfth win at WrestleMania. This was over Kane at Mania 20. WWE then started to acknowledge that Undertaker had quite the undefeated streak at WrestleMania shows, leading to what turned out to be the biggest selling point for the recent Mania era. For Smackdown to exclusively feature a talent who basically had Mania revolving around him, it was a major coup for the blue branded show. Smackdown was the home of the most revered performer of his generation.
