10 Reasons The Undertaker Rivalry Was CM Punk's Greatest Feud

10. Punk Earned The Match

In order to battle Taker at WrestleMania, CM Punk had to fight for it. In the last four WrestleMania events, Undertaker's opponent had been either Triple H or Shawn Michaels as a result of an ongoing rivalry between the three men. With that particular story finished, there was a void left for a competitor to challenge the Dead Man and his formidable Streak. During the opening stages of Old School Raw on March 4 2013, Punk announced his intention to break the Streak, but was almost immediately interrupted by Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show. This set up a Fatal 4-Way match between the men in the show's main event with the winner receiving the honour of a battle with the Phenom. The match was a hard-fought battle between four of the biggest stars in the WWE's current landscape. The fact that Punk brawled to the victory showed that this was a rivalry he truly cared about. This wasn't a case of battling for a title or fighting for honour, this was a chance for Punk to cement himself with an act that would be etched on wrestling history forever.
