10 Reasons Vince McMahon Is A Better Businessman Than Dana White
4. In WWE Every Worker Is A Superstar
To be fair, there are far more fighters in the UFC than there are superstars in the WWE, however, you can probably count only about ten (if not less) UFC stars that are really recognizable - while almost every WWE wrestler feels larger than life. In fact, outside Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, Paige VanZant, Rampage Jackson, Roy Nelson, Cowboy Cerrone, and a handful of others, what UFC stars really feel like stars? And therein lies the problem the UFC has: its image is pretty cloudy at this point if one of the above is not fighting. Fight fans buy PPVs based on who is fighting, and while the hardcore fans will appreciate a bout between talented unknowns, the casual fans and general public - who make or break PPV events - only care if there's a storyline. As well they should, with over forty UFC events per year, many of them free on FOX and Fox Sports 1. The WWE is helped by the fact that its stars are seen on TV each and every week, but the UFC really dropped the ball by promoting the promotion itself and Dana White over the fighters, something they did for years and years until Rousey and McGregor came along and bailed them out of a tough spot. It remains to be seen, however, if they fully commit to putting the fighters first.
