10 Reasons Vince McMahon Needs To Retire By Year’s End
8. He Has Failed At Public Relations
Despite reportedly having little to no social life outside of WWE, and reportedly spending almost 100% of his time on matters related to WWE, Vince has failed to do one important thing: improve the perceptions of the wrestling audience. Wrestling fans for decades have been viewed as less intelligent for their inability to differentiate what they see in a wrestling ring from reality. Moreover, some fans might actually feel embarrassed to admit that they watch WWE programming, especially when segments involving characters like the Bunny are shown. Moreover, wrestling fans are no longer seen by major TV companies as an important group to focus, and that theyre low-rent, which means that the TV companies that air wrestling programming dont think that wrestling or its fans is worth as much of a financial investment. Both of these issues could be blamed on Vince because he hasnt done the right PR work for WWE. Sure, WWE supports the Armed Forces (a noble endeavor), and many of its Superstars are involved with charity work. But both of those qualities have little to nothing to do with the actual wrestling product. Vince has failed to show that wrestling fans are a diverse group of people, encompassing both men and women of all ages, creeds and income categories. If Vince didnt micro-manage the shows so much, maybe hed have more time to help improve his products image and that of its fans.
