10 Reasons Why AJ Styles Won't Meet Fans' Expectations

1. Expectations Are Too High

A nice little summary is to say that the hard core AJ Styles fans that have followed his progress for over a decade are simply setting the bar too high for someone they are emotionally invested in. You always want your favourites to do well, and often times it's hard to accept that what you personally want to happen and what puts money in WWE's filthy rich pockets are two completely different things. Making AJ Styles a focal point straight out of the gate does not make sense. It doesn't matter how much experience they have elsewhere, all independent stars have had to go through years of establishing themselves in WWE's development programs or in minor feuds in order to work their way up the card - Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are no exception. Granted, Styles has much more experience than the aforementioned trio, but just like Samoa Joe, Styles first needs to establish himself as a WWE guy before it makes sense to have him work against the top dogs. Unfortunately given his age and wrestling style, that is highly unlikely to ever happen. AJ Styles fans will have to be content with their man playing a role in some captivating minor feuds and maybe a few minor championship runs, but even that would make for some phenomenal viewing.

Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
