6. CM Punk Felt Like A Champion, Seth Rollins Feels Like A Guy With A Championship
CM Punk and Seth Rollins are similar in both performers held preliminary championships in WWE prior to being crowned World Champion. However, Seth Rollins' runs as NXT and WWE Champion definitely lacked as much dramatic gravitas as CM Punk's ECW and WWE Championship reigns. Crowds love champions where they get a sense that it was their support, and not the work of a creative machine, that made someone champion. CM Punk always had that organic support, whereas Seth Rollins hasn't. Of course, there are those who will say that Seth Rollins' cash in at Wrestlemania was amazing. However, for the era in which it occurred, CM Punk's cash-in on Edge definitely won the Slammy for "Oh My God" Moment of the Year, so it certainly wasn't a slouch. As well, Punk's ECW Championship win over John Morrison was definitely one of the best moments (of very few) in WWE's re-started ECW brand. Thus, while Seth Rollins has held the championship, it's easy to argue that CM Punk ignited a more passionate response in the WWE Universe.
