Sadly, inevitably, it has already started.

The Becky Lynch backlash is brewing, albeit quietly, on the same social media platform Lynch has perfected with her awesome brand of savagery. She is "overrated", some people are saying. She's generating noise, not numbers. SmackDown creative is leaning too heavily into the whole "badass" thing. And while it's somewhat true that Becky is better at showing us her character than the Writers are at telling us, this Sunday's fascinating Women's Title match promises yet another reminder of why she is so popular at the grassroots level.

Technically outmatched by her more skilled opponent, Becky must continue to do what what she has done to arrive as The Man in the first instance, and fight. And if that's another parallel to Steve Austin - it reads much like his plight at WrestleMania 13 - it is an unapologetic one.

Becky must show that unparalleled, unmatched fire, the desire to succeed in a role they never really wanted her to fill. As an incredible, multi-faceted pro wrestler better than most at conveying dominance across every inch of that squared circle, Asuka is the perfect opponent to act as a roadblock to Becky's date with destiny in New Jersey.

The dynamic has awesome potential as a match, and what's more, the machinations surrounding 'Mania - of how WWE arrives at the rumoured Triple Threat - render it difficult to predict.
