10 Reasons Why WWE Fans Are Rapidly Losing Faith

7. They Don't Capitalise On What's Hot

Bayley is in a terrible state at the moment. Once considered one of the company’s most valuable babyface commodities, she has been ground to dust by a string of horrendous main roster booking decisions. The Alexa Bliss feud was the tipping point, and while Bayley used to draw some of Raw’s loudest babyface pops, her recent treatment has crushed her popularity.

When a wrestler gets over, WWE often don’t have a clue how to maintain their momentum. Dean Ambrose was red hot when he left Money In The Bank 2016 as WWE Champion, but the company undid this good work by turning him into a weirdo pseudo-heel in his feud with Dolph Ziggler. Him and Bayley are far from the only examples, and the roster is full of guys and girls who’ve seen their 'overness' tumble as a result of bad booking.

Instead of recognising wrestlers’ popularity and capitalising on it, WWE focus on pushing guys like Roman Reigns as a babyface, even when it’s abundantly clear that he’s never going to get over in this role. They’re so hell-bent on pushing their guys that they’re burying everyone else, and when you run fan favourites into the ground like that, the audience are going to stop buying what you’re selling.
