10 Reasons Why You Need To Respect Kevin Nash

7. Ending Goldberg's Streak

As Brock Lesnar's defeat of The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30 highlighted, it is virtually impossible to end a beloved undefeated streak without a large section of the audience hating it.

'Big Sexy's World Heavyweight Title defeat of Goldberg at Starrcade '98 remains one of the more divisive ends to an unbeaten run, not least because of Nash's rumoured position as WCW head booker, but also due to the atrocious follow-up a month later when Nash would suffer a farcical defeat to Hulk Hogan.

Ignoring the aftermath though, Nash was the really the perfect candidate to absorb the real-life heat bound to follow from such a decision.

Often forgotten when reflecting, Kevin Nash was arguably the most over performer on the roster, and was on par with Goldberg popularity-wise, as exhibited when the shocked Washington crowd erupted for one of the most talked-about finishes in company history.

Furthermore, even if Nash did book his own enormous victory, he still didn't cover himself in any glory, requiring a host of run-ins and a Scott Hall taser attack in order to polish Big Bill off once and for all.

It had to end eventually, and Kevin Nash was the right man to do it.
