3. Vince McMahon Has Always Respected Him
Before the very last episode of WCW's Monday Nitro, Ric Flair and Sting were approached by Shane McMahon. Originally, neither man was supposed to work on the show, but Shane had a message to relay. None other than Vince McMahon badly wanted to see Sting vs. Flair one more time in WCW, because he had been such a huge fan of their previous matches. This was news to both, who were ill-prepared to wrestle at their best. Even so, they pulled on the tights for what many realised would likely be their final battle. The match can't be considered one of their finest, but it was still cool to see arguably the 2 most important names to WCW put in an impassioned performance. The match was for McMahon, more than anything. The fact that Shane told Sting and Flair that it was Vince who wanted to see them work shows the respect the WWE head honcho has for both. Sting wouldn't work for World Wrestling Entertainment until 2014, but Vince McMahon apparently always had a huge amount of respect for the man. This should make his WWE Hall Of Fame induction more meaningful, because the promotion will want to honour Sting in the best way possible. If McMahon doesn't respect someone personally or as a viable selling point, there's no way a Hall Of Fame induction will happen. Sting covers both bases.
