The important thing to remember is that no-one is doubting Vince McMahons contributions to professional wrestling. He revolutionised the industry countless times over, he took it national and then global, he pioneered the concept of pay-per-views and he brought into the living rooms of mainstream pop culture with The Attitude Era. His genius and business acumen built an empire, but unlike an emporer, its time for him to step aside and let his successors take over. Triple H has proven he can run a wrestling organisation. NXT is one of the most thrilling, exciting shows in a long time and fans are clamouring for the main roster shows to have more of NXTs high-quality wrestling and nuanced storytelling. As for Stephanie McMahon, as Chief Brand Officer, shes the public face of WWE Corporate and doing a stellar job. Shes turned WWE into a force for good with BA Star, Connors Cure and the partnership with Susan G. Komen, and shes a fierce activist for more women at the corporate level. Vince McMahon had a hell of a run, and in many ways he changed the world forever in his own small way. In doing this, he set an incredible example for his successors to live up to, and so far, theyre living up to. McMahon needs to see the good that giving the McMahon-Helmsleys the ball could do, and he needs to let them run.
