6. Kayfabe Confusion

Total Divas exists in a strange world, on one hand it is a behind the scenes look at WWE which ditches kayfabe to focus on reality. On the other, it is at times obviously scripted and has been used to influence WWE storylines. To simplify it, it is kind of real and kind of not. Which leaves us in a weird halfway house where we see young fans shocked at Paige and Alicia Fox hanging out before their feud ending match later on in the night and then also seemingly sets up fights between the likes of Summer Rae and Natalya. At times, it becomes hard to figure out exactly when they are telling us the truth or when they are choosing to play us along. Which leaves us in a position that we get so rarely from wrestling. One where we are not sure what to believe. It is a throwback to the days before you smartened up and if you have been a wrestling fan your whole life, that is fun. It may not be questioning whether Kane is horribly disfigured under his mask, but it is something nonetheless.
