10 Reasons Why WWE Fans Should Be Watching New Japan Pro Wrestling

9. The Next Big Thing

Though WWE has been a global organization for decades, it's finally starting to act the part when it comes to recruitment. Since Triple H has taken the helm of the talent relations department, the company has broadened its view when it comes to the superstars of tomorrow €“ indeed, HHH's first major acquisition was Sin Cara/Mistico, and while that didn't work out so well, it showed that the international scene was now part of the equation. Two of WWE's biggest new signings of the summer €“ KENTA and Prince Devitt €“ both have extensive Japanese experience, with Devitt's coming primarily in New Japan. After dominating the Junior division for years (with three reigns as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, six as half of the Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, and two separate victories in Best of the Super Juniors tournaments), Devitt turned his back on the fans and formed Bullet Club, showing a new side of his personality that undoubtedly contributed to his WWE signing. Additionally, this spring, rumors of WWE's interest in Kota Ibushi began to swirl. While nothing has come of them yet, it's clear that WWE has its eye on New Japan Pro Wrestling, and the Japanese stars of today may be the global superstars of tomorrow.
