10 Reasons WWE Raw Will Never Be The Same Again

3. Big E's Victory Felt Like An Outlier

Big E's WWE Championship victory was universally received as a) an awesome thing, b) an awesome thing that only happened when it did because WWE were rattled by ratings pressures placed upon them by AEW Dynamite and c) an awesome thing that should have happened ages ago.

And in that order, too.

Everybody loves him for all that he is. A tremendous wrestler, an awesomely entertaining babyface, a killer heel, a supreme tag worker and the type of heroic personality in real life that transcends WWE's stale and stoic aesthetic, E is a perfect choice to be WWE Champion.

But he's been all these things for years. A victim of just about every systemic ill, it's taken him this long for f*ck knows why, and for everybody is elated it happened, the questions won't stop being asked as to why it's taken so long.

Nor will they be dropped when discussion moves to the hotshotting that got them here. Again, E is a rule-proving exception - WWE panic book Raw almost every week. In this case, the company just delivered something people actually wanted.
