There's no question that the WWE is the ultimate brand of professional wrestling. It's worldwide reputation is such that, to the majority of people, WWE is wrestling. Most people consider pro wrestling and WWE as the same thing, unaware that other companies even exist. Well, in most countries anyway. Not in Japan, and not in Mexico. Mexico has it's own, thriving wrestling circuit completely separate from the stranglehold that WWE has on the business elsewhere, and although the Alberto Del Rio name and character is owned by WWE, Alberto Rodriguez the man has already made a name for himself there. Del Rio is a rich man, and he won't struggle for work. Back in Mexico, or Japan, or even the independent companies in America, Del Rio can reap the benefits of a well-payed position at the top of card, main eventing sold out shows, free from the rigorous and draining schedule of a full-time WWE employee. WWE may be pleased to see the back of Alberto Del Rio, but it made be the case that Alberto Rodriguez is glad to see the back of him too.
Michael Palmer is a contributor at whatculture.com and thelineofbestfit.com, and he probably likes WWE slightly more than most people would call "healthy".
