Rhea Ripley coming out to confront Bianca Belair may have been a cool moment on an otherwise insipid RAW, but all it did was highlight the lack of credible challengers for both women.

Charlotte is taking time off; Bianca has spent the past year annihilating everyone on RAW; and Ronda Rousey may be a big name but she's injured, stuck in the tag division and has regressed horribly since her return to the WWE.

WWE have done a horrendous job booking the women's division over the past year, neutering far too many superstars (Liv Morgan, Damage CTRL, Asuka) to the detriment of the entire product. It's impossible to take anyone seriously as a threat to either Rhea or Bianca, meaning both women are effectively stuck in a holding pattern until they lay hands on each other.

Watching the two champions spend the intervening time by effortlessly knocking down WWE's overly-long list of female midcarders is unlikely to be compelling viewing, and WWE have only themselves to blame for putting themselves in this situation with their self-destructive booking over the past year.
