10 Reasons WWE's Cruiserweight Division Has Fallen
8. Getting Alicia Fox Involved
Romance angles in wrestling rarely work out, especially in WWE. Oftentimes, they're horribly handled because the company can't do "sports entertainment" the right way, and that was what happened with the Cedric Alexander-Noam Dar-Alicia Fox love triangle.
At first, it looked like Fox would be a nice addition to Alexander's act. He got over with the audience big time in the Cruiserweight Classic, but he had been lacking that special something on the main roster. Dar was even worse off, considering he wasn't remotely interesting as a character and he was never given enough time to show off his abilities in his matches.
Combine all that with how Fox was barely being used on WWE TV in the fall of 2016, and it seemed a decent idea on paper to put them together. It quickly went off the rails, hindering the quality of 205 Live more than it helped it.
From the awful acting to the forgettable matches, nothing about this angle was entertaining in the slightest. No offense to Fox, but she had no place on a show that should have been focused purely on in-ring action.
205 Live has been better off without her over the past number of months.
