10 Reasons You Need To Start Watching Impact Again
1. There’s Actually A Vision
For the first time since the Billy Corgan/Dave Lagana era of Impact, the show is actually going somewhere. While the promotion has always had financial issues, things really came to a head in 2015 after they left Spike TV. From then on, one lame duck booking committee after the next tried to salvage things. It was useless. At times there seemed to be no storyline plans of what would be happening on-air even a couple of weeks in the future. Fans quite caring and quit watching.
Right now, things are happening. Most of it good. OVE is creating havoc on the lives of a few roster members. Brian Cage is being pushed as the promotion’s version of Goldberg/Brock Lesnar. Allie has gained confidence and is out to prove she can handle being champion. Konnan has gone missing and we don't know why. They even figured out their Redemption pay-per-view main event out well over a month in advance (though as noted...that didn't turn out so well), which has not always been the case for the company.
The shows are better. The roster is fresher. The crowds are more invested than they have been in ages. Impact's ratings have grown over the past few months and fan interest is up. Part of that is due to the show finally offering coherent angles. It's such a simple thing, but it's something TNA/Impact has almost never provided to their viewers on a weekly basis.
The longer Don Callis and Scott D'Amore are able to implement their vision, the easier it is going to be for them to create a sense of stability. In turn, that will help undo all of the years of damage to the brand. This is a fresh start. A new era. So for those who still cringe when they think of "TNA," it's time to give them another chance.
