10 Returning WWE Icons That Couldn't Live Up To Their Legend

1. Shane McMahon (2016)

You can append the year with 2009 as well, since that was the first time Shane O'Mac broke out the ghastly air-punches, at that time against Randy Orton. While that calamity was quickly forgotten due to its conjunction with a secondary pay-per-view, his use of phantom strikes on recent editions of Raw have snuffed out the goodwill from his well-acclaimed return appearance on February 22. The Shane we all know and love is the crazy stuntman whose matches quickly become action-movie spectacles. Problem is, Shane's 46 now, and while he's no doubt preparing to endure some crazy leaps and crashes at WrestleMania in two weeks, the mystique and vigor are fading. The frequent botches in his promos don't help either.
