10 Rey Mysterio Dream Matches In WWE And 5 That Already Happened Elsewhere

13. EC3

While EC3 previously had a short stint with WWE as Derrick Bateman, he never got the opportunity to face Mysterio during their shared time in the company. Reinvented as Ethan Carter III as part of IMPACT Wrestling, he quickly became one of the company’s top stars. While Mysterio traveled to various promotions and countries during his time away from WWE, he never stepped foot into an IMPACT ring. Still, these two superstars managed to compete with each other thanks to IMPACT’s working relationship with Mexico’s AAA promotion.

As part of 2016’s Lucha World Cup event, EC3 did battle with Mysterio twice in a row. First, they squared off in six-man tag action. When that bout reached a time limit draw, Mysterio and EC3 were chosen to compete in a sudden death singles match to determine which team advanced in the tournament. The two men did their best for their respective teams, but that bout also ended in a time limit draw before Dragon Azteca defeated Tyrus in a successive sudden death match to get the win for Mysterio's team -- who eventually went on to lose to the Lucha Underground stable in the next round.
