10 Rey Mysterio Matches We Must See In 2016

1. AJ Styles

Is this the Rey Mysterio dream match to end all dream matches? Back when TNA was an actual factor in professional wrestling, many WWE v TNA cards would include Rey Mysterio vs. AJ Styles, and for obvious reasons. Ever since leaving TNA at the beginning of 2014, AJ Styles has been making waves over in Japan at the top of the New Japan card, winning the prestigious IWGP Heavyweight Championship on two occasions. At the forthcoming Wrestle Kingdom 10 show, Styles will challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, which if Styles can get over injury will be a classic for sure. AJ Styles' time in TNA was filled with fantastic matches against cruiserweight performers, with Styles matching them move for move in the high risk department. Rey Mysterio's time in WWE has expanded his abilities outside of the top rope, and one would assume that he is a more rounded performer for it. It is extremely unlikely that AJ Styles will turn up at the Lucha Underground temple anytime soon, and as mentioned it is unlikely that Rey Rey will be a part of any NJPW tour. As such, I wouldn't expect this dream match in 2016, but still, it must happen sooner rather than later.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
