10 Ridiculous Stephanie McMahon Ego Trips

1. Towering Idiot

Stephanie McMahon
WWE

When September 11th fell on a Monday in 2017, WWE used the opening of Raw to pay tribute to the many victims of one of the great atrocities of the past 100 years. In it, they issued a solemn message of respect and hope, shying away from the bombastic self-aggrandising they ordinarily can't resist.

Admittedly, Vince McMahon was at his blusterous best on September 13th, 2001 as he opened a live edition of SmackDown that marked one of the very first major public events since the awful events of the prior Tuesday. Through any prism, he can be forgiven for any perceived crassness - running the show was a broadly noble effort to help people get back to 'normal' life as they attempted to fully absorb the shock of what they'd experienced that tumultuous week.

His daughter, inexperienced and ill-informed, deserves no such quarter.

Staring down the lens to eulogise the events as many superstars had done throughout the night, she started, not with respectful mourning of the dead or a calm message of togetherness, but with a brief history lesson of the US Government's attempt to convict Vince McMahon in his 1994 Steroid Distribution trial.

Comparing those 'villains' to the terrorists that hijacked flights and killed thousands, Stephanie made a sickening choice to tactlessly point-score for her family at the expense of a simple solemn message. That she said it at all and that it even aired highlighted how small the WWE/McMahon family bubble really was.
