10 Ridiculous Stephanie McMahon Ego Trips

3. Ciao Bella

When Daniel Bryan went down with an injury so soon after his spectacular WrestleMania 30 victory, it seemed as though The Authority had actually won. All they'd espoused for the better part of the the year in their (and the company's) cynical attempts to bury the 'Yes Man' about his suitability for the role of WWE World Champion was proven correct by the eroding physical wellbeing of Bryan's battle-worn body.

Thankfully there remained a glimmer of hope in an unlikely place. Bryan's wife Brie had continued to fight her husband's cause against WWE's axis of evil, in this case led predominantly by Stephanie McMahon.

Not only was it a logical transition for the wives to take over where the husbands left off, but Bella could thankfully enact some physical retribution on the 'Billion Dollar Princess' in a way that the countless emasculated male talents could not. Added to that, Brie was a main roster regular, and thus far more accomplished in the rigours of the ring than the largely inexperienced figurehead.

Not that anybody told those involved in putting this match together.

A sister to the Shane McMahon/AJ Styles match that would take place three years later, the contest saw Stephanie comfortably outperform Brie despite what should have been an obvious disadvantage. Worse still, unlike her brother, she actually got to win! The match furthered a new story between warring siblings Brie and Nikki, allowing Stephanie to squeak the win despite spending almost a full calendar year as the wicked and vindictive antagonist in the programme.
