10 Risks That Could’ve KILLED WWE Careers
5. ‘The Man’ Shows Her Softer Side
WWE did a p*ss poor job of presenting Seth Rollins as a likeable babyface in 2019. Worse, the then-Universal Champ threatened to derail what Becky Lynch was doing over in the women's division. Both started a real-life relationship, which is sweet and led to the birth of their beautiful baby daughter, but it didn't click on screen.
Becky had rocketed to the top of cards as 'The Man'. Fans adored her 'Stone Cold' style mannerisms and general badass behaviour, so it was a bit of a departure when she and Seth suddenly started acting like high school sweethearts during pay-per-view main events.
It didn't work for either of them. If anything, the romance stuff hindered their respective runs and unpicked progress WWE had made with Lynch. She didn't headline WrestleMania by smacking Seth on the arse, put it that way. Becks headlined because she was one of the most believably rebellious characters in years.
Thank God this was temporary and only existed to get WWE through a few PPVs.
