Shawn Stasiak's dad, Stan, was a star of WWF before it was called WWF, holding the then-WWWF Heavweight Championship for nine days way back in December 1973, after Pedro Morales, before dropping it to Bruno Sammartino.

Shawn also wore title gold during his time working for Vince McMahon, only it was the virtually worthless Hardcore Championship, which he won some 15 times (which almost sounds impressive until you realise Raven had 27).

Other than that, his two stints on the books of WWE were largely fruitless. He was briefly embroiled in the Invasion angle on his return in 2001 - having gone off to bat for the WCW side 2000 - but, even with the Alliance's weak line-up, he didn't really have much to do.

In 2002, he was released from the company altogether at his own request and he subsequently decided to hang up his wrestling boots for good. That was probably for the best.
