10 Secret Pasts Of WWE Wrestlers

1. Charlotte Flair

Technically, WCW got to Charlotte Flair before WWE did.

Well, sort of. Charlotte walked that aisle for the very first time on the 4 January 1999 edition of Nitro ("Finger Poke Of Doom" episode), and she'd go on to make a few other token appearances for the company before it went out of business in 2001. Given enough time, she'd probably have been asked to do more and ended up Hardcore Champ or some other such nonsense.

WWE don't replay much of the WCW stuff when it comes to Charlotte. She'd actually shown up six years before the Nitro gig; Ric kissed his family goodbye at home before taking a limo ride with Gene Okerlund to Starrcade 1993. That was her debut, and it was the start of a long road towards eventually following in her dad's footsteps.

January '99 marked Charlotte's first foray into a wrestling ring on television. A little over 20 years later, she'd go on to headline WrestleMania. That's a majestic, mind-blowing thought.
