10 Shocking Incidents Of Unprofessional Conduct In WWE
2. Rookie Hazing
Rookie hazing is by no means exclusive to the wrestling business. It's been going on in athletic environments and clubs forever, but it seems like WWE takes it to another level at times. Once again, JBL is a primary offender here, and it usually quite proud of his antics, saying he did it to "protect the business." Among the offenseshe's reportedly committed are: Harassing referee Billy Silverman to the point that he quit the WWE, not allowing the Miz to change in the locker room, threatening to sodomize Brian Christopher in the shower (there are several shower stories about JBL out there), and of course the aforementioned Blue Meanie incident. JBL - along with Chris Benoit - drove promising young talent Palmer Canon to quit the company during a tour of Italy due to the intense hazing he received during Wrestlers' Court. Bob Holly is another known hazer, and his televised beating of rookie trainee Matt Cappotelli on Tough Enough left in a bad taste in many a mouth, despite Sparky Plugg's attempts to explain it away. There is an argument to be made that this behavior is engaged in to weed out those who aren't cut out for the rigors of the grueling world of wrestling, but regardless of your stance on it, it's hard to justify some of the complaints these men have levied.
