Returning to stars that narrowly escaped a far worse outcome on the back of a worrying looking bump, Big E's frightening neck break on the March 11 edition of SmackDown had fans quickly wondering whether they'd actually seen the last of The New Day hero in a WWE ring.

In truth, though, the fact Big E was even able to walk again after said botched belly-to-belly was a massive win.

As the former WWE Champion would explain a few weeks after this sobering incident, his first doctor's appointment revealed the fact that he actually "narrowly escaped a stroke, paralysis or death".

E has since returned to his feet and even helped out with WWE's SummerSlam tryouts, with the star later noting how he is expected to make a full recovery from the horrific neck break that has kept him out of action ever since.

And while it still remains to be seen whether Big E will ever wrestle again, the most important thing is that the star was able to luckily dodge a far more tragic fate.
