10 Shocking REAL Stories Behind Famous Wrestling Scares
4. Ric Flair Passed Out Twice In His Last Match
Without the prior knowledge of Ric Flair's actual condition during his apparent Last Match earlier this year, The Nature Boy's showing alongside Andrade El Idolo against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett was already deeply uncomfortable to watch.
Throughout the "contest", Flair routinely struggled to stay on his feet, lost a scary amount of blood, and genuinely left fans concerned by the sight of him timidly locking in the Figure-Four en-route to victory.
In truth, Flair very much passed out during the match - TWICE.
As he'd later reveal on his To Be The Man podcast, Flair intentionally didn't hydrate himself due to wanting to hit the ring at 219lbs. In the end, he weighed just 217lbs when he stepped through the ropes. However, said ill-advised call soon led to him becoming severely dehydrated during the bout itself.
The first black-out went down when he was stood on the apron earlier in the contest. Then, after dodging Jarrett's guitar to the skull, Flair once again blacked out, with this scary incident resulting in his son-in-law having to put a pair of brass knuckles on his hand and pull the veteran onto his feet for the upcoming spot.
All in all, if you needed a reminder why 73-year-old wrestlers have absolutely no business bumping, Ric Flair's Last Match has you covered.
