As if CM Punk's feud with John Cena in the Summer of 2011 wasn't hot enough, the forward-thinking Punk had to go and up the ante. Already re-emerging as a popular renegade who spoke the truth, Punk threatened to beat Cena for the WWE Title at Money In The Bank and then flee the company with its biggest prize.

The infamous 'pipe bomb' promo Punk cut on the June 27 edition of Raw was the most genuine moment the program had witnessed in years. Directing scathing barbs at everyone from Vince and Stephanie McMahon, Triple H and even Cena himself, Punk looked dead serious as he threatened mutiny.

Eventually, WWE's writers would spoil the party by booking Punk to return quickly post-MITB. There's no doubt the story could have been more special had they shown more patience, but at least the seeds for Punk's later main event success were planted.
