Remember 2016's Rumble when then-Champ Roman Reigns entered? WWE don't want you to, because they'd like everyone to believe that Brock Lesnar's 2020 inclusion is original.

Speaking of original, what happened back at the end of 2K16's Rumble wasn't in the initial script. Triple H, who came out as #30 and eventually won the match, tossed Roman over the top rope before tangling with Dean Ambrose for the decision. That, according to reports at the time, wasn't WWE's plan at the start of the night.

Instead, Reigns and Trips were supposed to be the final two. As legend has it, officials backstage were left dismayed by cold reactions to Roman during the Rumble, and they called an audible to have him ousted and replaced by Ambrose when it came down to a straight, one-on-one shootout.

Maybe WWE were still reeling from the scorching boos Roman had received for winning the Rumble 12 months earlier in Philadelphia. Keep in mind that Reigns was being presented as a hero of the people and an underdog against The Authority. Ending the night with cheers for Triple H wouldn't have furthered that story.
