3. Not Everyone Is On Board With The Warrior Award
You probably know that the Ultimate Warrior had a few skeletons in his closet. Who'd have thunk it?
But try, if you can, to get over your shock long enough to hear about the story of the Warrior Award, which WWE has dished out at its annual Hall of Fame ceremony every year since 2015 to someone who "embodies the indomitable spirit of the Ultimate Warrior".
It sounds nice on paper, but not everyone sees it that way - former WWE announcer Justin Roberts being one of them. After inaugural inductee, 8-year-old Connor Michalek, was posthumously given the award two years ago, Roberts penned an article questioning whether the gesture was "driven by sincerity and not strategy".
That's a pretty cynical point of view, but WWE didn't exactly do those rumours any favours. Stephanie McMahon tweeted on the day of the ceremony a quote from Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, which went, "Philanthropy is the future of marketing..."
