In 1996, WWF was still a year or two away from the Attitude Era and the infamous incident at the home of Brian Pillman was nearly more than America was ready for. During Pillman's feud with Austin, he was recovering at home with a legitimate broken ankle and when Austin found out WWF cameras were going to visit Pillman, he decided so was he. Pillman responded to this threat by saying his answer to Austin 3:16 was Pillman 9mm before brandishing a pistol. When Austin does show up, he forces his way past Pillman's friends and into his house. Pillman aims the gun, and the feed cuts to black. When they return to the scene, Pillman is in a rage, but Austin has disappeared. Stone Cold returns and Pillman launches into a string of profanity, including an F-bomb on live TV, threatening to kill The Rattlesnake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_s-CKQzPmM This was absolutely too much for the USA Network, who were incensed they were not informed WWF would be doing an angle involving firearms. In order to appease the network, Pillman was immediately removed from TV and wouldn't return until post-WrestleMania when he joined Bret Hart's new Hart Foundation stable.
