10 Shocking WCW Vs WWE Moments That Almost Happened
4. Eric Bischoff Almost Signed With Vince McMahon In 1990
It precedes the formal start of the war in 1995, but just five years earlier when WCW and WWF were first warming up hostilities, Eric Bischoff almost signed with Vince McMahon. Bischoff was a relative unknown and was auditioning for a job with the WWF as an announcer. He'd been successful in that role with the AWA, but he didn't end up getting the WWF gig. Instead he went to WCW and became their announcer. Within a few years, he'd worked his way up to being the boss of the entire company. He then implemented the boom period that allowed WCW Nitro to beat WWF's Raw ratings for 84 consecutive weeks. No doubt McMahon wishes he'd just hired the guy in 1990.
