10 Shocking Wrestling Plans You Won't Believe ACTUALLY Happened

8. Raw's Guest Hosts

There were few female stars WWE were so keen to vindicate as much as The Bella Twins when the company began an aggressive rebrand of the Divas division. Nepotistic acts were at play of course, but the dues paid by the sisters during the company's interminable 'Guest Host' period of Monday Night Raw were admirable in the extreme.

Almost weekly, Brie and Nikki would walk out either side of a disinterested celebrity who probably came cheap (or free) and needed Raw's valuable airtime to plug the living sh*t out of whatever entirely unrelated product they were trying to sell at the time. Segments ranged from rank to redundant, with only an extreme few ever threatening to entertain or remotely forward stories.

Too often, the host was positioned with a main event star in an effort to co-op the vaunted 'mainstream' media, but the tabloids and gossip websites never appeared remotely bothered by the stunt casts.

Bob Barker's 'Price Is Right' segment is fondly remembered, because it was just about the only favoured moment buried in a year's worth of utter tripe. Picture if you wish Will Forte and Kristen Wiig beating SNL dead horse 'Macgruber', Cheech and Chong dozily going through the motions 30 years after their cinematic debut, or Jeremy Piven rebranding WWE's second biggest pay-per-view as 'SummerFest' and you have lowlights that became a crushing reality of a creatively rotten regime.
