10 Shocking WWE Raw Moments You Never Saw Coming

5. Jeff Hardy’s Swanton From The Set (14 January, 2008)

Good old Jeff Hardy may not be the maddest bastard to ever set foot inside a WWE ring, but he's certainly a mad bastard - a point hammered home by his willingness to meet Randy Orton inside Hell In A Cell this year, despite his decrepit physical condition.

If he does do something mental on 16 September (spoiler alert: he will), it won't be the first time he has risked his own life to end Orton's. On this January 2008 episode of Raw, Jeff pulled off his most outrageous WWE dive of all, climbing all the way to the top of the set, saying a quick prayer, then Swanton Bombing down on the prone 'Viper,' creating one of the biggest "holy sh*t!" moments this daft sport has ever seen.

The key is in the danger. Yes, Orton lay on padding boxes, and yes, there was a horde of officials ready in case anything went south, but you can't fake diving from the Titantron. Hardy's leap was insane, and it had been seven full years since fans had seen Shane McMahon do it at Backlash 2001. Nobody saw it coming.
