Heath Slater became the One Man Band once again recently after his tag team partners Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre were released by WWE. The 3MB had basically been a sideshow act since its inception, featured in one comedy routine after another. And now Heath is left as the lone Spinal Tap Superstar. But truth be told he has not done very much since the split happened. Heath is just one of those guys that seems to be going nowhere and the company does not seem to have a direction for him. But all of that could change at Battleground. Heath's chances of winning the battle royal and becoming the new Intercontinental champion are probably slim to none but that does not mean that WWE should not consider it. The move would put the title on a guy that has always worked hard to entertain, a guy that is much better than many give him credit for. This could be Heath Slater's chance to shine, to have fun with the opportunity and for WWE fans to have fun with him. He would be a very entertaining champion and could be presented as the underdog after winning the gold. And everyone loves an underdog. Heath even has Bad News Barrett's endorsement to go over, which would provide a nice feud for the two men that dates back to their Nexus and Corre days. So maybe now is the time for Heath Slater to rise to the occasion. Rock on.
