10 Shocks We Could See At WWE Battleground

7. Roman Reigns Becomes WWE World Champion

Roman Reigns is on his way up in WWE. Fans know it, the Superstars know it and more importantly, the company knows it. They see the money that can be made with Roman and they see that his potential to be the top guy is bigger than anyone else on the roster right now. And one day he will get there. But had it not been for Daniel Bryan's injury, we may not have even been discussing the possibility of Roman climbing the company ladder right now. The fact is that WWE had a spot to fill and with top names being rather thin at the moment, they obviously decided to move forward with Reigns. And even though there is still the opportunity for WWE to build Roman one step at a time, could they actually put the belt on him at Battleground? Everyone knows he will get to the top. At this point there seems to be no doubt among anyone watching. But if WWE crowns him as the new World champion on July 20, then it could be one of the most shocking moments of the night. The biggest reason for that is, if he does win it then who will take it from him? There would be no one to end his run before it begins. The usual suspect list of Randy Orton, Kane and John Cena are all there of course and when Brock Lesnar returns, he could be the man to step up against Roman. But much of that seems forced and there would likely be more drama in Reigns defeating Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 to become the champion. But WWE has done stranger things before. Will they shock the world at Battleground?
